Mountain Bike Spring Tour
Ae Adventure Spring Tour
This is a great opportunity to get rid of the winter blues by riding your bike in the Spanish Sunshine. March is a great month in the Sierra Nevada as the warmer days start to creep back whilst the peaks are still covered in snow. When you first arrive we head up on the road to a high point of 2000 metres where you stop, get on your bike and cycle in to the Ae Adventure base, Casa Escocia. You may even have to initially do a bit of pedaling in the snow but what a way for you to arrive at your home for the week!!
The rest of the week you will get to experience some of the best mountain biking in the Sierra Nevada as we show you about this fantastic area known as Las Alpujarras.
The Mountain Biking will be as hard or as easy as you want. There is something for everyone here and you will be delighted at how much there is to do and how little used the area is. We often go out for days at a time without coming across anyone other than the odd shepherd! The rides are guided and fully supported but there is no problem if you want to head off yourself and explore the area.
You can also bring your own bikes or use one of ours and we have secure storage for
any equipment you bring with you.
Then it’s back to the bikes and trails on the southern side of the snow slopes with an endless amount of single track and forest trails to explore and discover. Our support driver will be on hand for drop offs and pick ups and he is always a welcome sight at the end of any of the big rides!
There’s plenty to do at night and most guests either kick back and relax in Casa Escocia or head down into one of the village bars. There are some great traditional tapas bars nearby as well a choice of restaurants.
You get a lot for your money on these trips and the food is always exceptional. Just see our guest book for an ongoing list of “amazing food” comments! You get to eat in most nights and sample the delights that the Ae Adventure chef will serve up. Two nights you’ll also get to head out and try the local delicacies and we’ll point you in the direction of the best eateries in the village. There is a free bar on all our trips and we’ll keep a good level of beer and wine stocked up for you throughout the week.
We always like to finish the week of with a big downhill blast and we’ll get as high as we can before hitting the trails for a serious dose of downhill action to send you homeward bound with a huge smile right across your face!

We’ll keep a close eye on the weather and if anyone is up for a day playing in the snow, we can head to the Sierra Nevada snow resort for some snowboarding or skiing. You'll need sun block here as it is the sunniest snow resort in Europe. If you ride the lifts to the top of the mountains you can look over the Med to the northern shores of Africa. There are plenty facilities for equipment hire as well as cafes and bars for you to check out in between runs. Oh yeah ... and the snow is great!!
